Well, today is the day. I am beginning my blog to chronicle my quest for abs. This blog is the official blog of my website GiveMeAbs.com and in it I will have photos to show my progress, tell what I am currently doing to develop my midsection, and discuss fitness tips and goals in general.
To establish a few basics, I am 35 years old, 5'10", and currently weigh 188 lbs. I wear a 34W in pants, which is down from a 38W one year ago. I am setting a goal for myself of 175 lbs and a 32W. I feel like if I get get my body weight that low, along with adding some muscle mass, I will get a good bit of my abs showing, then I can adjust my goal to get a full 6 pack. Wishfull thinging? Lets hope not!
How am I going to get there? To start with, I am using MyFitnessPal on my iPhone to track my caloric consumption and burning. I am attempting to stay in a 1860 calorie/day diet, which by the MyFitnessPal apps calculation would have me losing 1.5 lbs/week. If you would like to befriend me on MyFitnessPal, my ID is GiveMeAbs and the email is info@givemeabs.com.
I am exercising / working out at least 3 times a week. Beginning on Jan 7th I will be doing P90x while on shift (I am a firefighter), and doing some weight lifting as well. On top of that I will be getting a 1-2 mile run in when I can.
Below is this weeks picture, and the beginning of my photo timeline.
